Weekend in Destin

This past weekend we went down to Destin Fl to visit our old neighbors from Tuscaloosa, Claire and Brookes. We kept the girls out of school on Friday and headed down. It took us about six hours to get down their from Hamilton., but the kids did pretty good on the drive. Once we got down there we meet up with them at their condo and Brookes and Joe headed off to go work on a car. No surprise there, huh. Well us girls and Austin went over to the outlet mall to get something to eat and do some shopping.

We first ate at Cio Bella, a pizza place there at the outlets. We had a extra kid with us. The little girl on the end is Elle. Claire is her nanny and she tagged along with us because her and Abby are the same age.

Us eating our great pizza. It was delicious. As you can tell I wear this shirt a lot.
After tons of shopping we meet back up with Joe and Brookes to eat dinner at Johnny Rockets at the Destin Commons. Haley and Natalie loved their milkshake. After we ate we let the girls play in the water fountain there at the Commons. It was nice weather and they wanted to play so I said what the heck o.k. They got soaking wet in the water so we walked over to Gymboree. Claire got them some pj's and panties. We had to stop and get some Cold Stone ice cream of course. Austin loved the mint chocolate chip milkshake
Saturday morning Claire had appointments for the girls to get their hair cut at a salon. I think they liked getting some special treatment.
Claire surprised me with a facial when we got there. I was so surprised. I have never had anything more than a pedicure before, so I was a little nervous. It was great and lasted an hour. The girl massaged my feet first then I laied on the heated table and she put a mask on my face and massaged my scalp and neck and shoulders. WOW! I recommend it to anyone! (Oh yea don't laugh at the picture) I was debating weather or not to post it.

The finished product. What do you think? I didn't get a picture of Abby, because she fell asleep while the girl was cutting her hair and I had to hold her head up for her to finish. I can't believe she just fell asleep like that.

After the haircuts we headed over to the beach to let the kids play a little in the sand. It was a little windy so they just stuck their feet in the water.

After watching the sun set at the beach we headed back to Claires condo to get ready for dinner. We went to this place called The Copper Grill. It is a really nice restaurant that I don't think I will be going to often. It's the kind of restaurant that has no prices on the menu, if you know what I mean.

Claire and the kids waiting to be seated at our table. This is Joe's steak. I forgot what kind it was but it was huge. He really liked it. And this was mine. I got the filet. You didn't even have to use your knife to cut it. It was so tender. And of course we had to order dessert. They were both delicious. Cheesecake with chocolate drizzle and some chocolate cake with chocolate oozing out with ice cream on the side. Here we are at the table. My little family. We had a really great time. Thanks Claire for inviting us down, and treating us to a great weekend.

My poor baby!!!

The other day, the girls were outside pushing Austin in his stroller while I was trying to get dinner fixed because he was being rather fussy. He loves it outside so I sent them out to stroll him around. The next thing I hear is a screeching scream. As Haley is opening the door to say"mama, mama, mama" . I ran outside to find the stroller tipped over frontwards with Austin's face in the cement. I lifted it up and unstrapped him. Took him inside to find that it was only scratches. Boy it was scary to see my baby laying face down it the driveway! Well needless to say I could not finish dinner because he would not let go of my shirt. He was holding on with a death grip. I guess he was afraid that I was going to send him back outside with his much feared now, sisters!

Fun with Family

We went to Birmingham yesterday to go to the Temple with my mom. We had a really great time and had fun spending time with all my family even though it was for a few short hours. We all had to get back to our busy lives. We left the kids with Joe's mom. I was really nervous because I have never left Austin with anyone for that long. And if you know me well, you know that I rarely leave any of my kids with anyone. I guess I am a very protective mother. Is that good or bad? Any how after the Temple we headed over to The Cheesecake Factory at the Summit to get something to eat. I have never been there, but I had a horrendous headache and I couldn't even eat my food because I felt like I was going to throw up my head hurt sooo bad. But oh yes I did get a cheesecake to go. I couldn't pass that up. BTW it was delicious. Over all we had a great time and I am so glad we got to go to the Temple with my mom. Here are some pictures from the day.......

I got the spicy Cajun chicken pasta. Too bad I couldn't eat it. It looks good huh?
Kelley and Justin chowing down on their food. I love the candid shots!
Jessie got a ginormous burrito. She needs it though to feed that big ol girl due in six more weeks.
Holly and Dan eatin it up as well. Don't ya just love the color coordination they got going on.
I did get to squeeze in a smile for a picture with my mama.

Sleepy heads

The other day I had Austin in his high chair eating Ramen Noodles(can I tell you he loves those things), well he was eating them and loving it, and laughing, then I walked away........

And came back to this..... I can't believe he fell asleep that fast. I mean it was just a minute! Wow! I guess he was really tired. Well not the same day but different, Abby just decided to take her a little nap right in the middle of the kitchen floor. Seriously not in the bed or even on the couch but in the hard floor. What is wrong with my children. I have weird kids.
So there are not any pictures of Haley and Natalie to post because they are at school all day long and I don't take any pictures of them. Just to keep you updated if anyone cares, they are still loving school and doing extremely well, as much as you can for 1st grade. They love their teacher and yes she can tell them apart. I do still dress them alike but the teacher has them sitting on opposite sides of the room. They are going on their first field trip this month to Birmingham to Disney on Ice. Boy, I didn't know school was going to be so expensive! But they love it and that is all that matters.
